Joss paper
Joss paper, traditionally made from bamboo or rice, has been used for thousands of years in Chinese religious practices that venerate the deceased. Also known as “spirit money”, it is folded and burned to ensure an ancestor’s continued well-being in the afterlife. The creation of these pieces gave me a sense of connection with another culture and an appreciation for previous generations' influence on our lives.
